As an audio dramatist I have written many single plays for BBC Radio 4 and now podcast series too.
Flixborough 74
I wrote this drama-documentary to mark the 50th anniversary in June 2024 of the Flixborough explosion at the Nypro Factory, which I remember deeply from my childhood.
The drama was Pick Of The Week in the Radio Times, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, The Observer, The Telegraph and Mail on Sunday.
English Rose Seasons 1 & 2
The Daily Telegraph called the first season of my podcast drama series, ‘Fang-tastically entertaining’ and ‘A full on feminist show-down.’
Both seasons of English Rose are available to download on BBC Sounds
You can watch a recording here of an event that Mary Ward Lowery, the show’s producer, and I did for the Society of Authors, where we share the process of developing and making English Rose.
The Return of Rowena the Wonderful
My latest 45 minute Afternoon Drama for BBC Radio 4, is now available to listen to on BBC Sounds.
The countdown has begun. Rowena is getting ready to launch herself into adult life, approaching the age when she must leave her special school in Birmingham. On a planet that often seems hostile to disabled people, how should she live, as an adult?
The Typist Who Flew to Australia
I have written many BBC Audio Dramas, – this is one of my favourites:
Amy Johnson became a national heroine when she flew unaccompanied to Australia in 1928. But what dark forces drove her to make such a treacherous journey claim her place in the history books?
